Ruler Quilting with Kathy
Come join Kathy as we explore ruler quilting. After a few basics to get everyone started, then the fun begins! It’s like bowling with “bumpers”, the rulers keep you on track as you create many classic designs.
From attaching your ruler foot, adjusting it for proper height, to set-up tips and recommended products. Then we explore some of the different patterns available with your Sampler Set. Leave with a confidence and knowledge base to start quilting real quilts without the hours of practice! We will learn a quilt as you go technique as well as making a whole cloth quilt.

Requirements:
Ruler kit starter kit and sampler kit (these are machine specific, so please email me at kbruck2001@yahoo.com. I will need to know the make and model of your machine). Cost of this kit is $150 and purchased directly from Kathy.
Book written by Kathy will be brought to the class for purchase at $15.
Sewing machine in good working condition, with power cord and foot controller.
3 yards fabric for top and bottom (I recommend a solid or a tone on tone. It helps you to see your progress much better).
Batting 3 yards
1 ½ yards contrast for sashing and binding. We will be learning a quilt as you go technique.
Thread. I very highly recommend a 40-weight polyester, it is less linty than cotton and is great for starting your journey with ruler quilting.
Needles: I recommend that you have both 80/12 and 90/14 needles. For the 90/14 I like the topstitch needles.
Basic sewing kit with scissors, marking pencils, pen and paper for note taking.
Your rulers if you have already bought them.
Come prepared to have lots of fun.
Preparation Instructions for Students:
Using 1 ½ yards of the top and 1 yard of the backing fabric, cut them into 6 - 14” squares. Cut 6 – 14” batting squares as well.
