Ruler Quilting with Kathy

| Requirements: | Ruler kit starter kit and sampler kit (these are machine specific, so please email me at kbruck2001@yahoo.com. I will need to know the make and model of your machine). Cost of this kit is $150 and purchased directly from Kathy. Book written by Kathy will be brought to the class for purchase at $15. Sewing machine in good working condition, with power cord and foot controller. 3 yards fabric for top and bottom (I recommend a solid or a tone on tone. It helps you to see your progress much better). Batting 3 yards 1 ½ yards contrast for sashing and binding. We will be learning a quilt as you go technique. Thread. I very highly recommend a 40-weight polyester, it is less linty than cotton and is great for starting your journey with ruler quilting. Needles: I recommend that you have both 80/12 and 90/14 needles. For the 90/14 I like the topstitch needles. Basic sewing kit with scissors, marking pencils, pen and paper for note taking. Your rulers if you have already bought them. Come prepared to have lots of fun. Preparation Instructions for Students: Using 1 ½ yards of the top and 1 yard of the backing fabric, cut them into 6 - 14” squares. Cut 6 – 14” batting squares as well. |
